TWO LORDS
An interactive horror game
from Eponasoft

"'You are to be the keepers of the arcane...the pillars of wisdom and strength...together, you must guard and
defend all natural magic...'"

"These were the last words spoken by our mother before death claimed her soul, as it had claimed that of our
father just minutes earlier. We were the next to inherit the Lordship of Magic from our parents, who had
overseen all natural magic since their teenaged years. Now, the responsibility fell onto the shoulders of myself
and my older brother, Asrael."

"Since he was older, Asrael was endowed with the gift of black magic and the three rings that accompanied
that power: Blue, Purple, and Black. Being the younger son, I inherited the gift of white magic and its three
rings: White, Green, and Red. It was our parent's dying wish that we work together to continue to maintain
the balance between the Dark and the Light."

"Unfortunately, my brother Asrael eventually became obsessed with having control of all natural magic. Using
his newborn mastery of the black arts, he created a legion of demons to try to take my rings from me.
Although many a demon fell to my attack, Asrael's formidable black magic overwhelmed me and he was able
to capture two of my three rings. But since I am the Lord of White Magic, he could never take my White
Ring..."

"I was imprisoned in a subterranian dungeon and guarded by demons day and night while Asrael worked to
figure out not only a way to get my White Ring, but also a way to duplicate his own rings and endow his loyal
followers with the magics that they represented. Soon, he had a large, powerful, and dangerous army of
demon warriors capable of five of our magics. But...why did he need this massive demon army, if he himself
was armed with the majority of our magics?"

"I do not remember what day it was when one of his demons turned his back to Asrael and broke the lock
which bound me to my cell. That demon paid the ultimate price as Asrael's loyal demons enjoyed his
slaughter...but now I was free..."

"Now I must recover my Rings and work to restore the balance of natural magic...and then...if I have to...slay
my own brother, the Lord of Black Magic...Asrael..."

THE GAMEPLAY
Two Lords is an interactive first-person shooter (FPS) in the vein of Wolfenstein 3D and Heretic. You
navigate a series of dungeons and mazes, looking for relics to obtain and enemies to slay. But unlike
FPS games that have come before it, in Two Lords you become part of a complex storyline told through
the eyes of the main character.

The game is split up into three "Episodes", each a collection of six "Acts" or levels. Each Act has a
beginning and an end, and plenty of things in between. Your main objective is to slay enemies and
find items to increase your power. However, each level also has a secret objective. Completing the
secret objective will change later parts of the game and will affect storyline progression.

CONTROLS
Two Lords uses the mouse and keyboard to control, using the standard WASD layout.

W,S: Move forward and backwards respectively.
A,D: Strafe left and right respectively.
Mouse: Look around (used for turning as well).
Mouse button 1: Fire your current ring's magic charge.
Mouse button 2: Event button, opens doors and other events.
1 thru 6: Select a magic ring. You cannot select a ring you do not possess.
Q: Activate the Magic Shield (see below, "THE RINGS").

THE ITEMS
H Medicine: Adds 5 health points.
Blue Heart: Adds up to 25 health points, up to 100.
Black Heart: Very rare, maximizes your health (200 points).
Area Map: Allows you to see a map of where you've been. One exists in almost every level.
Hostile Diviner: Works with the area map to show the location of all enemies.
Arcane Teardrops: Sight becomes greatly improved for a brief amount of time.
Charge Crystal: Adds 20 charge points.
Charge Orb: Adds 50 charge points.
Drain Staff: Adds 100 charge points.
Ultracharge: Exceptionally rare, adds a tremendous 500 charges.
Holy Shield: Works exactly like the White Ring's shield power, except drains no charges and any ring
can be worn.
Black Shield: All rings drain no charges for a limited amount of time, even the White Shield!

THE RINGS
White Ring: Fires a single white energy ball which uses no charges, so it is always available to
attack with. Since the White Ring's primary power is defense, its attack capability is quite low.
The Magic Shield will consume 75 charges each time it's used. Also, if you have less than 100
charges, wearing the White Ring will slowly regenerate your charges.
Green Ring: Fires up to two green energy blasts. Each shot requires one charge and is much more
powerful than the White energy ball.
Red Ring: Fires up to two red star shots. Each shot requires two charges.
Blue Ring: "Since this is Asrael's ring, I'm not totally sure what this ring does but I believe it
controls Lightning magic."
Purple Ring: "Again, this is Asrael's ring, so I'm not quite sure what it does."
Black Ring: "Asrael also could not take off his native Ring, but he found a way to duplicate it
and give his ultimate power to his loyal followers. I have never seen him use this Ring for anything,
so I have no idea what it does."

THE MAGIC SHIELD
The White Ring's ultimate power, the Magic Shield, will protect you from enemy attacks for a brief
amount of time. It will not protect you from environmental hazards, though.

THE ENEMIES
"The turncoat demon was able to tell me this small amount of information about my new enemies before
he was ruthlessly slain by his brethren..."

Brutus: This is a weaker demon, but they're very common. They're fist-fighters, as they have no
magical abilities, so they have to get close to harm you. In large groups and up-close, these guys
are a real headache...literally.
Abishai: Another weak demon, but endowed with the powers of the Green Ring.
Ironhorn: The tougher, meaner, uglier cousin of the Abishai, endowed with the powers of the Red Ring.
Zombiehulk: Asrael's success with Brutus was improved further with this undead transformation of the
brawler. Very difficult to put down for good.
Kricek: He's in charge of the psionic communications link between the mines and Asrael's stronghold.
